Did you know Houston has 3 Farmers Markets throughout the week? Correct us if there’s more!
The markets are throughout the week, giving people in Houston more opportunities to support local farmers by buying local produce.
Farmers markets have more than veggies and fruits, they also have hard to find proteins, local honey, and plenty of other foods.
If you haven’t been to the market in a while, go shop local and support your local Bayou People community.
Saturdays
Urban Harvest Farmers market is open every Saturday morning, 8am – 12pm, rain or shine. They’re located off Buffalo Speedway and Westheimer, near Lamar HS and St. John’s Church. You can find the address and info below.
Tuesdays
Rice Farmers Market is open every Tuesday, 3:30pm — 6:30pm. There’s always free music to hear, great vendors to support, and they sometimes have other perks like free yoga or free beer. There’s also free parking next door.
Wednesdays
Urban Harvest Farmers Market is open every Wednesday in the Spring and Fall, downtown at City Hall. This farmers market is geared towards professionals working downtown, and offers a great break to walk around outside during the workday. If you aren’t downtown, it’s not that easy to pop in for 20-30 minutes and visit.. we recommend adding it to your work day if you’re already downtown.
Other Markets
There’s plenty of other local markets, but we’re on the mission to find fresh, local produce. Is there a market in town we aren’t highlighting here? Drop us a note in the comments.
